Buying A Double Stroller
The first thing you realize when buying a double stroller and indeed, becoming a parent, is that you need a separate house just to keep all the baby equipment in. For such tiny creatures, their stuff certainly takes up a great deal of space. Going out to visit family and friends is a military exercise,so it's best to think ahead and decide what baby will need.
Buying a double stroller can also be a very expensive business and the logical way around this is to buy second hand. Many of the so-called second hand twin pushchairs come in very good condition. Our own stroller was like new when we sold it on. Not only that, once you've bought for the first child or children, you can hand some things down to the next. (presuming that you want to even think about doing it again!)
The double stroller seats should be able to be tipped right back so that the twins can lie down and sleep comfortably. We had a McClaren double stroller which was excellent, it had an umbrella folding mechanism which meant it was really easy to fold and put in the boot of the car. The double pushchairs also have various accessories for different weather conditions that are essential in keeping the babies comfortable during their trip out, such as a parasol to keep baby in the shade, foot muffs (don't worry if you don't know what they are, I didn't either), insect covers and a rain cover to keep the twins snug and dry.
