How To Barbeque Meat
Whether you use a charcoal BBQ or a gas BBQ, you need to make sure your barbeque meat is cooked properly. It's a good idea to purchase a meat thermometer, that way you can be sure that your food is cooked all the way through However, do be sure to wash the thermometer probe each time you've poked it into a piece of meat or you'll get cross contamination.
All raw food should be kept in a covered container separately from the cooked food thus avoiding cross contamination.
Still worried? Don't be, I usually pre-cook things such as chicken thighs or legs and just finish off on top of the barbeque, that way I can be absolutely certain that I'm not going to poison anyone.
Top Tip for Sausages
Drop your sausages into a pan of boiling water for 5 minutes before cooking on the bbq grill this helps prevent excess fat escaping and spitting everywhere (it also makes for a more juicy sausage instead of the usual burnt offerings!)
